Who is Cartoon Private Party for?

Would you like a fun, family-friendly creative activity to do together with friends? This is for you! Cartoon Club Private Party was set up by me, artist and creativity coach, Sarah Jane Vickery, with the aim of getting all ages sharing their love of cartoons – and ultimately, having fun while building a creative mindset! It is ideal for adults, families or children ages 5 to 12 who are want to get creative with a small group of friends.

What will we do?

I show you simple ways of creating fun cartoons. I will introduce our topic, and we all work together sharing ideas of what we might draw. Then I lead us through simple ways of creating our cartoon narrative scene.

How does a private party work?

The online art class for families are very similar to my live classes. You can ask questions, get feedback and share our work too. You will login to our online Zoom art class with your computer, tablet or phone. You will need your sketchbook or paper and pencils to draw with. You may also want a black fine liner and eraser. When you login to Zoom's online class you will be in our virtual classroom. You will see both me and my desktop so you can see me draw. Zoom allows you to choose to turn your camera on or off so that we can see you and you can show your work. I will take questions at various points during the class. You can also type questions into the “Chat” window, “Raise Hand” virtually and verbally ask questions too.

What will we learn?

Cartoons are a fantastic way of engaging the imagination and connecting with others. My approach to cartooning is about being curious, observant and asking questions. You'll discover you can draw pictures you never imagined possible. Each party has a specific theme. We have lots of fun and at the same time, you'll improve your drawing skills and gain confidence to express thoughts and ideas visually. Suitable for all different ability levels.

How do I book?

Click Book a Workshop for availability. It displays in your local time zone. Once you reserve a time I will send you a Paypal invoice or BACS details to make payment and confirm your party.

Such a fun experience. It seems we can all draw cartoons – more or less! Sarah is a wonderful tutor. I can’t wait to try again.

  3. Ruth Jubert

We all LOVED our private session with you Sarah. Thank you for making our friend’s birthday celebration so special. Even at our advanced years, we all learned new skills and you were very tolerant of us – though I must say we were all much quieter than we usually are as we were concentrating so hard! Thank you for a marvellous morning treat.
