This was a quote that Ryan Holiday attributed to Scott Adams. I heard this when he was on the Tim Ferriss show. They were discussing the implications of censorship and saying that it is our own desire not to offend, that really drives censorship. They were stressing the importance of having honest conversations no matter what, so we can deal with the truly important issues. I think this concept is really important for me to keep in mind with all the creative work I do. It’s hard to put yourself out there, and be open to criticism. I guess I’ve got to be willing to catch on fire now and again!
