I love to layer my pencil crayon to create really deep, unique and interesting colours. I’ve always done a lot of layering, whatever my media, because I love the results it produces. I think it’s especially fun to do with pencil crayon.

I’ve posted a new YouTube Tutorial 3 where I walk you through a simple example of how I colour “orange” using multiple layers of pencil crayon. In this example, I colour Foxy, from my colouring book Veronica’s Garden. It’s available as a FREE PDF download from my website or Google drive so you can colour along at the same time.
You can do this tutorial with different colours than me, in fact it’s probably more fun if you do. You’ll hear how I get started, the questions I ask myself, and how work with through problems so you will be able to do it yourself the next time. Grab your colours and let’s get creative!

I love seeing different peoples interpretation of my illustrations. If you enjoy this video from Veronica’s Garden, please feel free to share your colouring creations on social media. You will find me most frequently on Instagram @sjvickery and Facebook plus in my YouTube Channel so you can colour along with me. If you do share your work, I’d really appreciate you using #veronicasgarden and @sjvickery and #sarahjanevickery
